Copley to Serve Jenna’s Promise Roasting Co. Coffee at Hospital

Jenna's Promise Roasting Co. with Copley Chef

Jenna’s Promise Roasting Co.’s Roast Master, Andrew Bunting, left, with Copley’s Interim Food Services Director, Hunter Covil.

Since 2019, Jenna’s Promise, a nonprofit based in Johnson, has been dedicated to helping people of all ages living with substance use disorder find support and reassimilate into society by removing barriers to treatment, offering sober housing, and developing innovative work programs. Jenna’s Promise Roasting Company, which operates a roasting facility in Johnson, is one of their programs, as is a coffee house, also in Johnson, run with Two Sons Bakehouse. Soon, Copley employees will be sipping their delicious coffee right here in the cafeteria.

“We’re very excited about this new venture,” said Interim Food Services Manager and chef Hunter Covill. “This partnership gives us the opportunity to support another local organization that is focused on healing in the community. I worked with Andrew Bunting, Roastmaster at Jenna’s Promise Coffee Roasters, when I was the executive sous chef at Two Sons Bakehouse. We proudly served Jenna’s coffee there, and some of the individuals going through the Jenna’s House program were employed at the cafe. This is a total win-win for both of our organizations.”

CEO Joseph Woodin agrees, stating: “Jenna’s Promise has taken on the challenge of helping people get on the road to recovery. The work they do is so important, and it means a lot to us to be able to support that work. We’re open 24 hours a day here, and as you might imagine, we drink a lot of coffee. When you look at it this way, it’s kind of a no-brainer. It’s the perfect partnership.”

We LOVE our coffee at Copley Hospital! Thank you, Jenna’s Promise.

The folks at Jenna’s Promise Coffee Roasters are equally pleased. “We’re thrilled to engage with Copley in this venture,” said Bunting. “Copley is the first step of support for so many people in our program. Partnerships like this go a long way towards breaking down the stigmas attached to hiring people who are in recovery. Plus, he adds laughing, we just make better coffee!”
