On Saturday July 12, sixty-seven golfers enjoyed 18-holes of play under a bluebird day with perfect course conditions at the Copley Country Club while raising money for our community hospital. This year’s event netted nearly $25,000 for Copley Hospital.
“It’s heartwarming even in 80-degree weather to see the long-standing support from not only our business community, but locals,” said Barbara Walls Copley Hospital’s Executive Director, Development, Marketing and Public Relations. “The intense sunshine nor the humidity took away from some great tournament play. After 18-holes, and a lot of hydration, golfers sang praises for the course conditions and the pure enjoyment they shared.” Walls highlighted the impact of the event sponsors while thanking golfers for their continued support of this long-standing event for Copley.
Thirty-two local and regional vendors and individuals sponsored this year’s Copley Scramble. “We are so appreciative of all of our sponsors because they play a key role in making it a tournament for and about our community,” says Walls. “I especially want to offer my sincere appreciation to our presenting sponsor, Connor Contracting, and to our platinum sponsors Union Bank, Smugglers’ Notch Resort, New England Air Systems, HUB International, The Richards Group, and Community National Bank as well as our gold, hole and silver sponsors. I also want to extend thanks to those local businesses that continue to support the scramble through sponsorship of foursomes, and a special thanks to our Lamoille Valley Chevrolet for their long-standing support as our hole-in-one sponsor.”
Following play, golfers enjoyed a post-tournament luncheon provided by the folks at the Veranda, and prizes courtesy of local restaurants and businesses were awarded to the five teams with the lowest net scores. They were:
First Place – Team Dupuis with a score of 54:
Donald Dupuis, MD, son Jack Dupuis and friends Gabe Foldeak and Greg Goulet
Second Place with a score of 54:
Alex Cyr (Morrisville), Douglas Cyr (California) and Aiden Slayton (Morrisville)
Third Place – Team Community National Bank with a score of 55:
Joe Hurlburt, Shane Goodell, Matt Lapan and Cole Warner
Fourth Place – Team Donald P. Blake, Jr. Inc. (DBI) with a score of 56:
Cody Johnston, Mike Menard, Tom Brooks and Josh Lockwood
Fifth Place – Team Smugglers’ Notch Resort with a score of 57:

Walls noted that monies raised will help fund the fourth Operating Room building, a campaign that is well underway and will be completed by January 1, 2026. “The hospitality of Course Superintendent Brant Slayton and crew, along with that of the Veranda made for a great day of play for all,” continue Walls.
