Work Where You Play

Taking care of patients starts with taking care of yourself.

Finish your shift and within 20 minutes you can be skiing or mountain biking trails or paddling in a local lake. Copley is nestled in the Green Mountains, Vermont’s 4-season recreational resort area, home to world-renowned trails in Stowe, Smugglers’ Notch, Craftsbury and more.

Match that with great schools and the incredible local food and craft beer scene in the area and you’ll soon understand the attraction of Lamoille County.

Our Nursing Units

Copley is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital serving the greater Lamoille County area and north central Vermont. Our RNs assume leadership responsibilities, which include delegation of work to other levels of employees. Our nursing units include:

  • Medical Surgical
  • Perioperative Nursing
  • Emergency Department
  • Birthing Center
  • Outpatient Clinics

Medical/Surgical Nursing Unit

Our 21-bed unit is a medical/surgical, progressive care and isolation care unit.

Our scope of service includes providing post-operative care for patients who have undergone orthopedic joint replacements, abdominal surgery, genitourinary surgery, as well as medical management for diabetic, cardiac, gastrointestinal, trauma, neurological, and respiratory patients requiring admission.

Patients may be monitored by telemetry. Progressive care patients need close monitoring and frequent assessment but aren’t unstable enough to require ICU care.

Perioperative Nursing

We have three Operating Rooms with one Outpatient Procedure Room which perform 2,000+ surgeries annually in the following specialties:

  • General Surgery
  • Gynecology
  • Orthopaedics
  • Ophthalmology
  • Urology

Emergency Department

Our Emergency Department has eight Treatment rooms with 15 beds. In addition to performing assessments, treating and monitoring patients in the ED, RNs may also provide direct patient care to the ill during transport along with EMS transport and treatment protocols.

Birthing Center

Our Birthing Center has a 4-bed mother-baby unit and our three Certified Nurse Midwives and our Ob/Gyn deliver around 200 babies a year. In addition to providing couplet care to mothers and babies post-delivery, RNs provide education on post-partum care, breastfeeding and infant maternal health.

Outpatient Clinics – Cardiology, General Surgery, Oncology, Orthopaedics, TeleHealth, and Women’s Health

RNs in our Outpatient Clinics evaluate patients, plan, implement and document nursing care as well as assist physicians during examinations and procedures.

We welcome candidates of all backgrounds and qualifications to join our team. Even if you are on the fence, check us out. We think you’ll be impressed.
