You are invited to enjoy one of Vermont’s favorite three-day culinary celebrations: the Stowe Wine & Food Classic, happening August 26-28. This premiere culinary event features local food, craft beers, and fine wines from around the world, paired with great music, spectacular views and the luxury accommodations of the world class Stowe Mountain Lodge at Spruce Peak. Enjoy the Stowe Wine & Food Classic for a day or make a weekend out of it. Tickets are on sale now at stowewine.com. Save by buying your tickets in advance as the price goes up the day of the event.
This not-for-profit event is unique because it is one of the few events where the community comes together over the course of a culinary weekend to help raise funds for charitable organizations in Vermont. This year’s proceeds will help fund camping experiences for children with cancer at Camp Ta-Kum-Ta and renovate infusion treatment rooms for the oncology service of Copley Hospital.
“The Stowe Wine & Food Classic gives you amazing access to Vermont’s food culture; a food culture that rivals anywhere else in the world,” noted Stowe Charities President Tony Campos. “You can talk one-on-one with Vermont chefs, brewers, and local purveyors along with world renowned vintners. As you taste and experience the best Vermont has to offer, you can compare notes with friends and other foodies. It is a unique experience where people who enjoy premier food, wine and beer come out to support two very meaningful organizations which provide life changing opportunities to many.”
Stowe Charities is delighted that this year’s event is hosted by Spruce Peak at Stowe, the renowned year-round destination located at the base of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak.
Kick off the weekend with some of the best Vermont Food Trucks, offering tasty creations paired with Vermont craft beers. The night also showcases the powerful vocals of Vermont’s own Kat Wright backed by the funk and soul of the Indomitable Soul Band. They have been selling out crowds nationwide; don’t miss your chance to catch the best of Vermont’s culinary and music scene together for one unforgettable night.
Our Saturday night farm-to-table dinner and live auction starts with sparkling wine on the patio of Stowe Mountain Lodge overlooking breathtaking Mount Mansfield. The evening will continue inside for an amazing locally and regionally sourced five-course meal prepared by Stowe Mountain Lodge Executive Chef Ronnie Sanchez, Chef de Cuisine Jeremy Martin, and Executive Sous Chef Jacqueline Martin featuring wine pairings courtesy of Farrell Distributing. Throughout the evening guests can dance to the Grippo Funk Band. Memorable, one-of-a-kind items, ranging from rare wines donated from the cellars of private collectors to large format bottles signed by the winemakers, vacation getaways, and luxurious lifestyle items will be offered through our live auction.
One of the most popular events of the weekend, the Grand Tasting features over 30 chefs and restaurants, award-winning craft beers, more than 100 premium wines from around the world and unique localvore gourmet food. Visit the culinary theatre for live cooking demonstrations with guest chefs and wine tasting seminars. The silent auction features fine and collectible wines, vacation getaways and other great local treasures. Guests will also enjoy another Vermont local treat, the Starline Rhythm Boys.
Proceeds from this year’s event will go towards furnishing Copley Hospital’s renovated Infusion Suites in Outpatient Services. An Infusion Suite is used to administer chemotherapy and other intravenous therapies in a comfortable, home-like setting. Copley Hospital is greater Lamoille County’s not-for-profit community hospital, providing a full range of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services and emergency care 24 hours a day. Its mission is to improve the health status of the people of the community by providing the highest quality of care regardless of the ability to pay. Copley Hospital has been named one of the 2016 Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the country, one of the Top 50 Hospitals in New England based on Patient Satisfaction, and the hospital’s orthopedics practice, Mansfield Orthopaedics, has been named best orthopedic practice by Vermont Sports readers for the past several years.
