Robin Pugh of Second Chance Thrift Store Honored by Community Workforce Solutions

November 2, 2017

Robin Pugh Manager of the Second Chance Thrift Store, with support from the Copley Hospital Auxiliary, was honored with the 2017 Employer Award by the Community Workforce Solutions (CWS). CWS’ Morrisville Branch Manager DJ Masi presented Pugh with the award that recognizes her commitment to training and employment of CWS Morrisville and Reach Up Program job candidates.

Pugh, and the volunteers at the Second Chance Thrift Store, have been supporting the Morrisville based program for more than three years. Masi noted that Pugh’s mentorship and coaching provides participants the confidence and skills needed to obtain future employment. “Her commitment to the program goes beyond helping participants build on their skills. She challenges each participant in a way that helps them move forward,” he said.

As a resource to CWS, Pugh and the Second Chance Thrift Store provide opportunities for job shadows, work experiences and assistance with community service placement. The opportunity helps participants further themselves toward competitive employment in our community.

Masi extended thanks to Robin, the Copley Hospital Auxiliary and volunteers at Second Chance Thrift Store for supporting CWS’ mission to assist Vermonters to obtain employment that matches each individuals knowledge, skills and goals.

The Second Chance Thrift Store is located on Brigham Street in Morrisville. Second Chance and the Gift Shop at Copley Hospital are run by the Copley Hospital Auxiliary. Proceeds from the stores and that of bake sales and the annual membership drive benefit our community hospital. Most recently, proceeds have help build the James and Mary Louise Carpenter Surgical Center and purchase medical equipment.

Congratulations to Robin Pugh and Second Chance Thrift Store.
