Copley Hospital and Lanpher Memorial Library Co-Present Health Talk
Morrisville – From advertisements, a friend’s experience, or a recent article, we often hear how a certain vitamin or nutritional supplement will improve our quality of life. As a consumer, it’s difficult to know which supplements provides benefits, and which are giving false promise. Is it safe? Is it effective? Will the supplement cause any harmful reactions with what I am currently taking for medications? Copley Hospital and the Lanpher Memorial Library are teaming up for a November 12 talk focusing on Nutritional Supplements. Copley Hospital Pharmacy Director Carrie Phillips, MS, PharmD, RPh, will talk about the effectiveness and safety of nutritional supplements. The evening talk, at the Lanphear Memorial Library in Hyde Park, begins at 6:00pm. Phillips will discuss how to determine if a nutritional supplement is what it says it is. By learning all you can about vitamins and supplements; you will be able to make better choices about what is right for you.
The presentation is part of the Health Talks Fall Series, a collaboration between Copley’s Health Sciences Library and our local libraries. The Health Sciences Library at Copley Hospital can help you find answers to your health questions.
