Matching Gift Challenge from Copley Hospital Auxiliary

November 21, 2016

Copley Hospital Auxiliary to Match Every Gift, up to $30,000, for New Surgical Center

Morrisville – The Copley Hospital Auxiliary has made a $30,000 matching gift commitment to Copley Hospital in support of the Campaign for the new Surgical Center. The Auxiliary offered this matching gift challenge to encourage community members to participate in the Campaign. Any new gift made now to the campaign will be matched by the Auxiliary, up to a total of $30,000.

“We appreciate the excellent care we and our families have received at Copley,” said Judy Shanley, President of the Copley Hospital Auxiliary. “It is important to help Copley update their facilities so they can continue to provide expert care for our community now and into the future. We hope everyone takes advantage of this opportunity to make their donated dollars go further for Copley.”

New Surgical Center Nearly 90% Complete
Copley’s Campaign for the New Surgical Center aims to raise $3.2 million in community support as part of a $12.5 million facility upgrade to replace its current operating rooms, which were built in 1979. To date, community members have contributed more than $2.8 million in support of the campaign.

The new Surgical Center is a direct replacement of Copley’s existing surgical facility with the goal of addressing space deficiencies and improving patient experience. Construction began in May, off the hospital’s main entrance. The project involves new construction to build the integrated Surgical Center, renovation to the Outpatient Services Center that includes adding two Infusion Suites used by Oncology. The new center will enhance patient privacy and the overall patient experience, in addition to helping improve care process efficiencies. Copley anticipates opening the Surgical Center in Fall 2017.

Auxiliary to Match Every Gift
“We are grateful to the Copley Hospital Auxiliary for this generous matching gift for our community,” said Art Mathisen, Copley Hospital President and CEO.  “It embraces just how vital this project is to the health of community members and to the long-term economic well being of Copley, our community, and the state.”
