Morrisville, VT – James Wills of Johnson was recently named Copley’s Team Hero by the hospital’s leadership team. The award recognizes an employee who demonstrates outstanding service and exemplifies the hospital’s values of community, respect and compassion, service excellence and life-long learning.
As Surgical Supply/Materials Coordinator, Wills is responsible for ensuring all supplies needed for surgery are available. He works closely with surgical vendors and sales representatives ensuring specialty equipment and supplies are on-site. In addition to ordering, he is responsible for maintaining the inventory.
Nurse Director of Surgical Services Karen Cavender describes James as a strong steward of the hospital’s resources while putting the needs of the patients first. “James is an integral part of the team and we could not clinically care for our patients without the dedicated service he provides,” says Cavender. “We are very fortunate to have James on our team.” Another co-worker describes him as consistently “going beyond” to not only help the surgical staff, but other departments as well. The Mansfield Orthopaedics joint team appreciates the amazing support Wills provides. His attention to detail ensures that all procedures, especially specific equipment needed for intricate cases, is available and ready to use the day of surgery.
Wills started his career at Copley in 2015 working in Central Supply. Soon thereafter, he took on additional responsibilities as Surgical Supply/Materials Coordinator.
