Copley Hospital’s Heather Griggs was presented with the Copley Team Hero award by the hospital’s leadership team. This prestigious award recognizes employees who exemplify the hospital’s values of community, respect and compassion, service excellence and life-long learning. Heather is a team member of the Rehabilitation Department where she has been serving as Administrative Assistant for 15 years.
Copley’s Director of Rehabilitation Services Jill LaRock, along with a number of Heather’s co-workers, nominated her for the award. “Heather is truly dedicated to her work. That dedication is evident every day. Whether she’s helping patients or staff, her commitment shines,” said LaRock. Heather continually goes the extra mile to ensure patient needs are met. “It’s that excellent customer service that has our patients calling back and asking for Heather,” LaRock said. Every day Heather reviews the patient schedule to ensure there are no gaps. Recently, with the implementation of a new software system, she took on more responsibilities by learning the program and working through obstacles to ensure daily work is complete. Her knowledge of the program has enabled her to help other staff understand how to use the program efficiently and effectively.
While presenting Griggs with the award, Copley CEO Art Mathisen said what struck him most about the nomination was her dedication to her job and outgoing personality when caring for patients and staff. “When your director, co-workers and patients see you as the Rockstar of the department you know that person is truly admired by your team,” said Mathisen.
While humbled by the honor, Heather did share, “I truly love my job. I feel I have the best of both worlds, I work with a great team and know my efforts are making a difference for our patients.”
Griggs resides in Craftsbury with her husband Jamie and daughter Jade. Last December her oldest daughter blessed her family with a granddaughter. In addition to family camping trips, she enjoys beach time and watching Jade at her ballet performances. Heather grew up in Morrisville, and is the daughter of Gordon and Hazel Bowen.
The Copley family congratulates Heather on this honor.
