Morrisville – Local residents Walter Frame, David Silverman and Jamey Ventura were elected to the Copley Health Systems, Inc. Board of Trustees during Copley’s Annual Meeting on January 13, 2014. Trustees of Copley Health Systems provide professional expertise pertinent to the governance of the organization. They are volunteers who represent the communities Copley serves.
Executive Vice President with Trapp Family Lodge, Walter Frame has been serving on the Board since 2012 fulfilling a vacated position. Previous to Trapp Family Lodge, he had served as Vice President and Director of Real Estate Development at Spruce Peak Realty. Frame holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Babson College, and an MBA from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. He and his wife Kristina reside in Stowe. At Monday’s meeting, Frame was elected to serve his first three-year term.
David Silverman, President of Union Bank, has been serving on the board since October filling a vacant position. He has been with Union Bank since 1986 serving in various roles including Senior Loan Officer, Senior Commercial Lender and Senior Vice President. Silverman is very active in the community and has served on numerous boards including Community Health Services of Lamoille Valley (CHSLV), Stowe Area Association, Morrisville Development Review Board and Lamoille County Mental Health Services. Silverman was elected to serve his first three-year term.
Jamey Ventura is the Director of Athletics and Recreation at Johnson State College. In August Jamey began serving on the Copley Hospital Foundation Committee. He earned an MBA with a specialization in corporate finance and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. He and his wife Elly reside in Hyde Park.
Elected to their second three-year term as Trustees were Elaine Nichols and Nancy Putnam. Nichols, who joined the board in 2009, resides in Stowe and is an attorney with Nichols and Associates. Over the years she has served on a number of non-profit boards in Stowe including the Stowe Land Trust. Jeffersonville resident Putnam is a CPA and works for Marckres, Norder and Company in Morrisville. Her financial experience and knowledge continue to be an asset to Copley’s Board.
Serving on the Governance Committee as Community Member at Large for another one-year term is Mary Paul (Pixie) Loomis of Hyde Park.
Following the Annual Meeting, at their monthly meeting, the Board elected the following to serve as officers during 2014: Nancy Putnam of Jeffersonville, Chair; Elaine Nichols of Stowe, Vice Chair; Sharon Green of Morrisville, Secretary; Dana Wildes of Morrisville, Treasurer and John Steel of Stowe as Member at Large.
During the meeting special appreciation was extended to retiring Trustees Michael Alexander of Stowe, Elizabeth Rouse of Hyde Park and Brian Smale, MD of Morrisville for their contributions.
Also serving as Copley Trustees are: Henry Binder, MD of Stowe; Willa Farrell of East Hardwick; Patrick Keith, MD of Morrisville; Jan Roy of Wolcott; Richard Westman of Cambridge and David Yacovone of Morrisville.
Copley and our community are fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers guiding our community hospital.
