Copley Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, Jen Piette, RRT has been presented with the “Copley Team Hero” award by the hospital’s leadership team. This monthly award recognizes employees who exemplify the hospital’s values of community, respect and compassion, service excellence and life-long learning. Copley Chief Nursing Officer, Lori Profota, DNP, RN, NE-BC, nominated Jen for the award.
In the nomination letter, Profota describes Jen as the division of nursing’s unsung hero stating, “Jen’s leadership, competence and passion for team work, and positive patient care outcomes are exemplary.”
As an expert clinician, Jen shares her knowledge and expertise during every staff interaction. She is always the teacher, working closely with staff taking questions and creating opportunities for practice skills. “She defines team player like no other,” Profota shares. Profota has worked with Jen side-by-side during difficult clinical situations, noting that together they even teamed up to help in the Birthing Center when babies were coming at once. “Jen does not hesitate when the call for help is deployed.”
Outside of Copley, Jen is an active EMT with the Missisquoi Valley Ambulance Service where she has served as head of service for the past 14 years. When not caring for patients at Copley, or wearing her EMT hat, she is a “horse show mom” traveling the Northeast circuit with her daughter. Jen resides in Jay with her husband and family. She has been at Copley since 2008.
Copley, and our community, are incredibly fortunate to have such skill and compassion in one individual – Jen is truly a Copley Team Hero! Congratulations from your Copley family.
