Copley Hospital CEO, Joseph Woodin, is pleased to announce that Jeffrey (Jeff) Hebert has accepted the position of Chief Financial Officer. “Jeff brings a tremendous amount of finance experience, having previously been the CFO at Gifford Health Care, and is very familiar with the community and the Green Mountain Care Board. I am delighted he joins team Copley.” Mr. Hebert’s first day at Copley is April 13.
Woodin notes that while the timing of Mr. Hebert’s arrival, referring to the current COVID-19 pandemic, will be an additional challenge on top of addressing Copley’s FY19 operating loss of $2.2m, he feels Jeff is up to the job. “I’ve had conversations with Jeff over the past several weeks. He too, has been looking at our finances and looks forward to being part of the team that gets Copley back on track. Prior to the pandemic, we were looking at areas that could potentially have a positive financial impact on the hospital. This situation has set us back a few steps, but we will prevail,” said Woodin.
Mr. Hebert brings more than 15 years of healthcare finance experience to his role at Copley. Most recently serving as CFO for Littleton Regional Healthcare in New Hampshire. Prior to Littleton, he was CFO of Gifford Health Care in Randolph. He also worked at Central Vermont Medical Center and UVM Medical Center in a variety of roles including Quality Management Analyst, Financial Manager, Senior Reimbursement Analyst, and Controller.
While at Gifford Health Care, Mr. Hebert helped bring quality and costs in line, making the hospital one of the most successful and innovative hospitals in New England. “Jeff’s financial leadership and knowledge helped contribute to achieving an operating revenue that put Gifford in the black. His expertise will be an asset to Copley,” states Woodin.
Mr. Hebert attended Wentworth Institute in Boston for Engineering. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree majoring in statistics and mathematics at the University of Vermont in Burlington and his Master of Science in Administration majoring in administration and management at St. Michael’s College in Colchester.
Jeff is a native Vermonter, having grown up in Barre. He and his wife reside in Waterbury. When not working, Jeff and his family enjoy the many outdoor activities that Vermont and New England offer. Summer months are spent mountain biking, while the winter season is spent enjoying the slopes and trails of area ski resorts.
