Copley Honors Employees Lynne Suddaby, RN, Meredith McGee, RN and Adam Lesure Honored for Excellence

Morrisville, VT… May 7th was a evening of honoring excellence and recognizing service milestones for Copley staff during their annual Employee Appreciation Banquet. Copley President Mel Patashnick reminded staff and guests that Copley Hospital is fortunate to have such compassionate and dedicated professionals who are devoted to their work, and that of making a difference in the communities we serve. “Copley is especially proud of the people being honored tonight as they have demonstrated a commitment to our community hospital, and to the quality of care patients and their families have grown to expect,” said Patashnick. Registered Nurse Lynne Suddaby of the Medical Surgical and Special Care Units received a standing ovation by colleagues and guests when named Employee of the Year, Surgical Services Meredith McGee, RN was honored with the Edward French Memorial Award and Adam Lesure of the hospital’s Information Technology Department was recognized with the Goddard Family Award.

The highlight of the evening was when Patashnick named Lynne Suddaby, RN as Employee of the Year, an award that recognizes an employee who makes exceptional contributions to our community hospital. Lynne is described by her peers as an exceptional role model. Her effective communication skills and commitment to excellence help doctors and peers meet that exceptional care patients deserve. Lynne is very thorough, organizedHer patients needs always come firstis a compassionate and caring nurse who is described as a stellar employee In hisIn her position as Surgical Supply Coordinator Salvas is responsible for the operating suite supply rooms; ensuring they are stocked with all the necessary supplies needed for the variety of surgeries provided the Hospital. She also works closely with surgical vendors in ensuring that specialty items are on-site for specific surgery types. Salvas takes great pride in her work to ensure the doctors and nurses of the OR have all that they need to continue the excellent reputation of patient care provided at Copley. Outside of the hospital Salvas is a full-time farmer where her days begin in the barn and end in the barn.

In keeping with tradition and on behalf of the medical staff, Dr. Joel Silverstein, Chief Medical Officer, presented the Edward French Memorial Award and the Goddard Family Award. The Edward French Memorial Award is an award that recognizes nursing excellence. This year the medical staff chose to honor Emergency Room Nurse Mary Delaricheliere, RN. Dr. Silverstein described Delaricheliere as an excellent, dedicated and caring nurse. She has been part of Copley’s family since 1991.

The Goddard Family Award recognizes excellence in a non-nursing position. This year’s recipient is Cardiology Services’ Erin Niles. Niles joined Copley in 2004 and is currently serving as Stress Tech Technician. “Erin has a great rapport with her patients and takes the time to educate and prepare them for testing. Her calmness is especially helpful as it helps put patients at ease prior to testing,” said Dr. Silverstein.

During the event, Copley also recognized and thanked employees for their years of service. The following individuals were recognized for commendation:
