AARP Driver Safety Class, February 1st at Copley

January 17, 2017

The new year brings new opportunities, like the chance to become a safer driver. On February 1st Copley Hospital will be hosting an AARP driver refresher class. It’s not only a way to refresh your driving skills, but a chance to qualify for a multiyear discount on your car insurance! The program is designed to help drivers age 50 and older improve their driving skills. This one day, four-hour class will be held on Wednesday February 1st and is open to all. The class will be held in the hospital’s Board Conference Room from 8:30am to 1:30pm. To register, or for more information, contact Copley Hospital’s Wellness Center at 888-8369 or online at www.copleyvt.org/classes-and-events.

The class is designed to help participants learn and recognize links between driver, vehicle and road environment. The course also covers safety and advanced features in newer vehicles as well as how to determine when driving may no longer be safe. Facilitating the February class is local AARP-trained volunteer Dave Peters of Elmore.

Copley Hospital’s Wellness Center offers a variety of programs including CPR and first aid, classes for expectant parents and personalized services through its Workplace Wellness Program. For more information on the many programs and classes available through Copley’s Wellness Center.
