Copley Welcomes Ellen Adams

… Last week Copley President and CEO, Melvyn Patashnick announced to staff the appointment of Ellen Adams, PT, MS as Rehabilitation Services Director and Practice Manager of Mansfield Orthopaedics.  “We are pleased to have found such a qualified candidate to fill the dual roles,” states Patashnick.  Adams will report to Peter Wright, Senior Director Planning, Development and Medical Group Operations.
 
For over a year now, Peter Kramer has been holding the position of Interim Director of Rehabilitation Services.  During this time Kramer has been instrumental in developing and integrating rehab services at Mansfield Orthopaedics, services that include the addition of pool therapy.   Kramer will continue in a management role as Supervisor of the outpatient program at Copley as well as providing direct patient care. 
 
Adams comes to Copley with over twenty-seven years experience as a practicing physical therapist as well as managing rehabilitation and other clinical departments, with much of that time spent in upstate New York.  During her sixteen years at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady she was Director Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services, Rehabilitation, and Cardiac Rehab.  She was a key player in the design of a premier Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Fitness Program in the community, and was instrumental in introducing new therapy practices which resulted in an increased market share.  Other strengths include her team work approach with regards to patient care, financials and communication.
 
As Practice Manager at Mansfield Orthopaedics, Wright explained that Adams will work closely with the physicians and staff managing the facility’s day-to-day operation.  
 
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Copley team and look forward to working with both the rehab and Mansfield teams,” said Adams.  Adams plans to continue to keep her clinical skills sharp by continued to see some patients.
